Professional and Industry Experience
Tony has over 35 years of finance and accounting experience advising emerging growth companies in mergers, acquisitions and industry consolidations. Tony advises private equity funds and strategic clients on buy and sell-side issues including commercial and financial due diligence, financial model and business strategy risks and structuring. He has assisted clients in completing transactions with deal values in excess of $10 billion and complex dispositions involving multiple divisions in several countries.
Prior to founding Southcoast Advisors, LLC in 2018, Tony was a partner in the Deal Advisory practice of KPMG, LLP and led the energy sector for KPMG’s Transaction Services practice in the U.S. and participated on U.S. and cross-border transactions. He has led multiple buy-side due diligence engagements for both private equity and strategic clients over the past 20 years in all segments of the energy industry including upstream oil and gas, midstream, oilfield services, regulated and unregulated power and utilities and renewable energy transactions.
Tony has assisted a number of energy clients in executing strategies to maximize shareholder value through carve-outs of specific assets and businesses. He has assisted those clients at all stages of the disposal process including working with external advisors and the Board of Directors on feasibility and value creation to assistance in preparation of stand-alone financial statements and completion of the IPO. In addition, Tony coordinates with other advisors and client stakeholders to assist with the establishing of underlying processes, controls and financial reporting functions necessary to support the new stand-alone entity.
Tony has served as a Director for the Houston chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth and on the board of the Houston Symphony. He has been a frequent speaker at KPMG’s annual Global Energy Conference and Power & Utility Tax Share Forum. He has published articles on energy industry M&A issues in Oil and Gas Investor and other trade publications.
